Disclaimer & Policies The information within this website has been gathered from a number of public and private sources and quite frequently is the culmination of the experiences of many COPD patients. It is intended as "general information" only and is NOT intended as medical advice or recommendations of any sort. Our intent is to give you additional knowledge, links and information to help you further understand this disease and to assist you in the management of same. Every effort is made to keep the information contained herein, up to date and accurate. Confidentiality /Privacy Policy as it relates to your Membership in the Organization We take your privacy very seriously. Any information gathered/received from you when you sign up and become a member will be held in the strictest of confidence. This also includes your e mail address. Your information WILL NOT be shared with anyone at any time (with the exception of your name (only) in the event a discounting supplier wants to verify your membership with us) Moreover; we do not share your e mail address to any other member without your explicit consent. Privacy As It Relates to This Website We do not use or place cookies on your computer.. All web servers however do have basic information about visitors to the their site(s). It is "generic" in nature. I.E. how many hits/visitors, from which countries, the referring sites or search engines, the operating systems used etc. None of this identifies you; the individual. Our Advertising Policy:
COPD Canada Patient Network has no paid advertisements. Although the organization occasionally offers up discounts from reliable and reputable suppliers of different products, our organization does not receive any gain or compensation from same. Any benefits derived from these companies is received by our individual members in the form of discounts or rebates direct from the supplier. Funding: As a Federally registered tax deductible charity, we are reliant on donations. Unless a donor chooses otherwise, all are issued tax receipts. Additionally we receive, from time to time, honorariums or stipends for work we might do (payable to CCPN) in assisting other not for profit groups or charitable organizations in their own endeavours. All funds received by COPD Canada Patient Network goes back to patients in some fashion. Full and detailed financial statements are made available yearly to ALL members of CCPN at the on-line Annual General Meeting and is available on line to the public through the Charities Directorate of Revenue Canada. Conflict of Interest: COPD Canada Patient Network has no conflicts of interest with any group, company, individual, organization, or industry.
