Government Contacts by Province

Taken from Health Canada's Website....

"The federal government provides funding through cash and tax transfers to the provinces and territories to help pay for health care services, but the actual delivery of services is a provincial/territorial responsibility".

It has been reported that the economic burden for COPD is substantial.  In 2001/02, COPD  ranked 7th with regards to those requiring hospitalization. Unfortunately most of the provinces are not funding the latest, proven, effective and oft times recommended medicines.  It has been proven that a couple of the latest drugs reduce the frequency of exacerbations (flare-ups).

Drugs/medicines are certainly less expensive than ER visits and/or hospital stays and Rehab has been proven itself many times over.

Less visits to the ER's and hospitals =  Less $ spent overall.  The math is very simple.

Perhaps we should be pushing  our Government to spend less money.

Your Provincial Health Ministers are listed below if you ever want to remind them or ask them why they're not funding the latest proven effective treatments : (Your MP info is at the bottom)

Remember: Letters (Postage) to the Provincial Health Ministers is NOT FREE .
